At the Stony Brook WIC Program's Food Day, we will be increasing awareness about food day and informing clients about the importance of using their local farmers markets. Handouts about Food day and a recipe booklet will be given out during this event. The recipes in the booklet will feature fresh fruits and vegetables and emphasize the value of farmers markets. Spreading the importance of our local farmers will increase awareness about sustainability and the environment. A sample of Butternut Squash Soup will be served to inspire our clients to use fresh fruits and vegetables!
